GP-16 of the now defunct Santa Fe Southern sits side tracked at Lamy, New Mexico.

Built in 1915 by ATSF in Spanish Colonial style, this lovely Union Station is now in the National Register of historic places. At left, my family getting some info at the tourism office.

An abundance of rain over the last several months has produced fields upon fields of sunflowers. Featured is one with a now retired Santa Fe Southern locomotive in the background.

Returning to it's name sake city, the Santa Fe Southern "mixed" crosses a classic wooden trestle outside of town. The train met Amtrak's Southwest Chief at Lamy and is on the return leg home.

Santa Fe Railway drops of cars at Lamy for the Santa Fe Southern to pick up for the City of Santa Fe. Later they are returned to Lamy for the Santa Fe Railway to pick up.
